This homemade bread is fantastic as an appetizer or a side dish to any meal. Nothing makes the house feel like home more than homemade bread in the oven! It's not that hard, you can do it ;)

Ingredients
1 1/2 tsp instant yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
2 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp alpine touch (optional)
1/2 cup pitted, chopped Kalamata olives
Directions
-Place water and yeast into a standing mixing bowl and wait 10 minutes
-Add remaining ingredients except the olives
-With the dough hook, kneed on low speed for 5 minutes
-Fold in olives, knead until the dough pulls from the edges (add flour as needed until the dough releases from the bowl)
-Spray a mixing bowl with nonstick spray
-Transfer the dough into the bowl, place in a warm place and allow to rise until double in size (about 1 hour)
-Punch dough (the fun part)
-On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper form dough into a flat, oblong loaf shape
-Make three deep cuts in the dough
-Place a towel over the dough, place in a warm place and allow to rise until double in size (about an hour)
-Preheat oven to 400 degrees
-Dust loaf with flour
-Place in the oven
-Throw 3 large ice cubes in the bottom of the oven (this will give you the nice crust)
-Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean
