This recipe is so versatile! Serve them as a party appetizer with dipping sauce. Add your favorite marinara sauce for spaghetti and meatballs. Make some meatball sub sandwiches. Use them as a base for stroganoff or a Swedish meatball dish. OR serve them plain! They are so moist and packed with flavor they don’t need a sauce!
Ingredients
1 lb ground meat
¼ cup cooked bacon crumbles or bacon bits
2 eggs, beaten
½ cup milk
½ cup cheese (I like parmesan or shredded cheddar)
1 cup Italian style bread crumbs
1 yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, diced
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1 tsp garlic salt
¼ tsp pepper
Instructions
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees
-In a small bowl whisk eggs and milk together
-In a large bowl add all other ingredients then add egg mixture
-Mix thoroughly
-Using a melon ball scoop (or spoon for larger meatballs) shape to desired size
-Place on an ungreased cookie sheet (use parchment paper for easy clean up)
-Bake for 30 minutes or until cooked (note larger meatballs will take a little longer to cook)
-Enjoy!
Pairs well with baked goat cheese dip and stuffed mushrooms for the perfect party platter!
