Spaghetti has been my favorite since childhood. There is something so comforting about a big bowl of pasta. This recipe is simple and easy. Take your favorite jarred sauce to the next level by adding your ground meat, veggies and spices.

Cook time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
1 lb ground venison (or meat of choice)
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 pkg fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
-1 jar of your favorite store bought sauce
-1 can stewed diced tomatoes (homemade if you have them)
-1 cup red wine
-1 pkg spaghetti
-Parmesan cheese (optional)
-Fresh basil (optional)
Directions
-In a sauce pan on medium heat add olive oil, ground meat and seasonings,stir until ground is mostly cooked
-Add onion and bell pepper to the pan
-Stir occasionally until onion and pepper is soft
-Add garlic and mushrooms, blend
-Add sauce, tomatoes and wine
-Reduce to low heat, cover, simmer for one hour (30 minutes is fine but the longer the better)
-Cook pasta 20 minutes prior to when you want dinner served
-Garnish with parmesan and fresh basil (optional)
Pares well with fresh garlic bread. Enjoy!
