This recipe from my Mama has been a go-to for years. Another comfort food, I make it for my children and now my children make it for their children. I love recipes that have been handed down for generations. Any easy weeknight meal for all the busy parents out there.

Ingredients
1 lb ground venison (or meat of choice)
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried basil
-1 jar of your favorite store bought sauce
-1 can stewed diced tomatoes (homemade if you have them)
-1 cup red wine
-1 pkg macaroni noodles
-12 oz shredded Italian cheese (optional)
Directions
-In a sauce pan on medium heat add olive oil, ground meat and seasonings,stir until ground is mostly cooked
-Add onion to the pan
-Stir occasionally until onion is soft
-Add garlic, blend
-Add sauce, tomatoes and wine
-Reduce to low heat, cover, simmer 30 minutes
-Cook pasta 20 minutes prior to when you want dinner served
-Combine sauce and noodles until blended, serve hot
Tip: To step it up a notch place in a baking dish after blending sauce and noodles, top with shredded Italian cheeses and bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. Enjoy!
